Kayla Fleurent and Domenic Corey’s romance began where all good love stories start—in East Wareham, Massachusetts at Water Wizz, in 2013. He was a lifeguard and she worked as a ride attendant. “He was the dreamy guy at the pool,” remembers Kayla.

Though the summer ended, the couple’s romance continued to blossom as Kayla headed to Northeastern University while Domenic returned to high school to finish his senior year. They reunited the following fall when Domenic joined Kayla at Northeastern.

The day before Christmas vacation, Domenic took Kayla to see The Nutcracker. She was touched that her boyfriend got tickets to the ballet, given her affinity for dance. But the surprise didn’t stop there. Little did Kayla know, Domenic had packed her suitcase and orchestrated an overnight stay at XV Beacon, a posh hotel in the heart of Boston.

Following the show and a romantic dinner at Mooo…. restaurant, Kayla and Domenic took a stroll through Boston Common. In the middle of the park, Domenic placed his hat on the ground, got down on his knee and said, “Kayla I have tricked you long enough, will you marry me?” After her acceptance, he placed a stunning, custom-designed ring on her finger.

Kayla had a blast planning her wedding at Harbor Lights with her mother, grandmother and aunt. “Harbor Lights was the first place we looked at and we fell in love at once,” she said of the seaside venue.

The pair was pronounced husband and wife under a white arbor flanked with sheer white drapery and florals, overlooking the ocean. One of Kayla’s favorite moments of their big day was when she and her new husband looked into each other’s eyes and it sunk in that they were really married. “It was a magical moment lit by a breathtaking sunset.”
