August13th, 2012. Jackie and Russ Hatch danced their first song as a married couple to “Feels Like Home”, but it might just as fittingly have been “Walking On Sunshine”. Their wedding celebration at The Villa at Ridder Country Club in was filled with sunshine, summer fare, family and close friends. The vibrant yellow of the Gerbera daisies in Jackie’s bouquet perfectly embodied the sheer joy and optimism that permeated the day.
“I wanted everything bright,” says Jackie. “I picked a bright white dress and the bright yellow of the flower bouquets and I love the way it came out.”
Self-described “summer people,” Jackie and Russ kept the tone easy, breezy and fun: mini burgers and clam chowder made it feel like a “summer cookout” and Russ’ Chuck Taylor converse sneakers were surely the envy of many a less comfortable groom.
“Everything from the menu to décor to atmosphere screamed summer soirée,” says Katelyn Hill, wedding planner with the Saphire Event Group. “From their lemonade martinis to the chowder, their menu really emphasized a summer New England feel. The Villa’s garden proved to be a light and romantic setting for the couple to exchange their vows. Everyone was energized from the moment the couple was introduced right up until the last note of the last dance.”
“We were so lucky with perfect weather and no disasters,” says Jackie. “I can’t believe how perfectly it all went.”
