Erika & Gregory

On Fourth of July weekend in 2013, Erika Hirsch and Gregory Palazzo saw plenty of fireworks, both literally and figuratively. It was an instant attraction for the pair, who met through mutual friends at Coopers Beach in Southampton, New York. “We spent the whole day together at the beach,” says Greg.
Three years later on the same holiday weekend, Greg proposed at the very spot he met Erika. “As we walked down the beach, Greg dropped his shoes—I thought something was wrong with him, I had no idea he was about to propose!” Erika recalls. “Then he got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him. His dad was there to take pictures of the proposal.”
Keeping with the coastal theme, the couple chose OceanCliff in Newport as the setting for their nuptials. “I took Erika there when we first dated, and we’ve made it our special place,” says Greg.
The couple decided on a formal, black-tie optional wedding with groomsmen wearing black tuxedos with bow ties and bridesmaids wearing neutral blue and beige gowns. “The setting was stunning,” Greg says of the venue, which has panoramic ocean views. “Greg had everything planned to a T,” says Erika.
Erika says her favorite aspect of their picture-perfect day was that it brought their families together. “Our families had gotten to know each other really well through our dating years, and it was really great to have everyone all together.”
