Blush Tones, Historic Venue Create Elegant Atmosphere at Newport Wedding

With their love for New England, history and the ocean, it seemed only fitting for Andrea Bidegaray and Austin Stephen to choose Newport, Rhode Island as the location for their July 18, 2015, wedding. The pair, whose courtship took place in Boston, decided to host their nuptials at iconic Rosecliff mansion, a venue that perfectly satisfied Andrea’s affinity for history and the couple’s desire to host an unforgettable celebration against a backdrop of Gilded Age architecture and the Atlantic.

Counting travel as one of their greatest loves, the couple (whose relatives live all over the world) included globally inspired aspects in their big day while also paying homage to their New England roots. Ceviche was served as a nod to the bride’s Peruvian heritage along with more locally sourced dishes.

The wedding aesthetic was classically elegant. The bride wanted the colors to feel “soft and romantic.” Bridesmaids were dressed in a palette of white, blush and champagne while the groomsmen wore black as a nod to the “black tie optional” dress code. The attire against the ritzy backdrop made for a chic and timeless pairing.

A wedding is always full of memorable moments, but several stand out for the couple when they recount their day. Andrea learned just before the wedding that her dad had been taking dance classes in preparation for their number together, which was especially sweet as it was an uncharacteristic move for him. The bride and groom agreed that while the entire weekend was incredible, the moment Andrea walked down the aisle towards Austin was the most profound. “The moment I saw Austin at the end looking at me I felt so emotional,” Andrea remembers. “I couldn’t wait to be up there with him so that we could share the moment together.” Austin conceded that the memory of them saying “I do” will stay with him forever.
