Winter Storm Sets Magical Scenery for Cape Cod Bridal Shoot

Winter Fantasy

The freezing cold past winter and the effects of a ‘bomb cyclone’ hurricane created the backdrop for this magical seaside shoot which married ice with warmth. For Chapoquoit (or “Chappy”) beach this is a very different look, and very rare.  It is the second time in fifteen years in which the rolling ocean waves have frozen over completely, leaving the landscape an unrecognizable tundra which stretched almost to the horizon. Despite the deceptive arctic appearance, conditions were surprisingly warm as the sun set in the distance. The ice could be heard shifting, and as it thawed the air smelled like the familiar salt of summer, a reminder that we were in fact walking on sea water.
