If you live in Southern New England, you’ve surely noticed the vibrant yellow daffodils popping up all around town, which serve as a most welcoming sign that spring has (finally!) arrived. On Nantucket, they celebrate this phenomenon during the last weekend of April with their annual Daffodil Festival – a weekend of events to celebrate springtime’s awakening on Nantucket Island.
The weekend-long celebration is hosted by the Nantucket Chamber of Commerce with the main events being the Antique Car Parade on Saturday followed by a tailgate picnic in ‘Sconset. Additional festivities include a wine tasting at Épernay, a Daffodil Dinner at Bartlett Farm, the 41st Annual Daffodil Flower Show and a 5K on Sunday morning.
