July 14, 2012. Picture-perfect couple Tizzy Cornish and Cory Chamberlain wed on a bright July day at Glen Manor House in Portsmouth, RI. Accompanied by friends and family and four of the cutest flowers girls ever, the pair stood in the main garden overlooking the Sakonnet River and exchanged vows.
The couple, who hails from California, added a lot of West Coast touches to their day, including bright pink pops of color, flowers reminiscent of fat bunches that one would pick up at a farm stand, and an orchard feel trumped up with mansion elegance. Some guests sat inside the formal mansion for dinner, while others were treated to a long Tuscan table overlooking the water. As the sun retreated and evening set in, candles and lanterns were lit, lending to the easy, romantic feel of the summer soiree. “Some of our clients like to just do one long table outside, for say just the wedding party, and seat the other guests in the adjoining dining areas. This gives the event more of a European feel which works well with our style of venue, the French Chateau,” says Katie Wilkinson, event manager at Glen Manor.
Katie recalls the event, which included 170 guests, fondly: “They were very much looking forward to the marriage and celebration that followed. They hired wonderful vendors that made the evening run without a hitch. What stood out most in my mind was how the couple relaxed, and just had an amazing time.”
