Shades of Blue, Aqua Bring Coastal Feel To Offshore Plymouth Wedding

After Emily and Taylor met during a family ski trip, love quickly blossomed. They dated for five years before Taylor proposed in the home the two had recently purchased together. “It was snowing; just a regular Tuesday night,” says Emily. “Then Taylor brought me outside and plugged in some Christmas lights that spelled out ‘Will you marry me?’ in the snow. It was so us. Years from now, I love that I can say [he] proposed to me right here in our home.”

Emily also felt like she had come home on the day she found the couple’s wedding venue. While visiting The Pavilion at Pinehills Golf Club for a bridal expo, she fell in love with the building. “The ceiling and beams were beautiful, and there were windows and French doors that let in awesome light,” she recalls. “I just remember walking around getting brochures for different places and thinking, But I love this place. Why not have our wedding here?”

On June 13, 2015, the couple tied the knot at the club and never looked back. “My favorite moment of the day was definitely walking down to Taylor,” shares Emily. “We decided not to have a first look because we wanted that feeling of seeing one another for the first time. Then later during cocktail hour, we took pictures, just the two of us. Those moments were like a breath of fresh air.”

Another favorite part of the wedding for Emily was the centerpieces she created. “We wanted a coastal feel without bringing in sand and shells. Instead, we used multiple blue and aqua bottles of all different shades,” she explains. “I loved that feel and even did the same colors for my bridesmaids’ dresses, which took me forever to find.”

Looking back, the bride also fondly remembered a special moment with her father, dancing to Don Williams’ “I Believe in You.” “My father had always told me there was only one song I would fall asleep to when I was little. When it was time to choose our father-daughter dance, we knew that one would be perfect,” says Emily. “Not everyone knew the meaning of the song so it made the moment between my dad and me even more special. We’re more like best friends.”
