We’ve got ballet on the brain, and we can’t help it! With companies across the region gearing up for the opening performances of their 2013-2014 seasons and ballet schools back in session, there’s an inspiring buzz in the air (and on the internet). The Boston Globe published an article about the Boston Ballet this week, and on September 12th, the New York City Ballet released “New Beginnings,” a video of two of their principles dancing on the roof of 4 World Trade Center at dawn. Whether a dressed up night out at a performance, a beginner bar class or a marathon of movies about dancers overcoming obstacles (one of our favorite genres) is your speed, there are so many ways to take a break with ballet in New England. For a schedule of shows, check out Boston Ballet or Festival Ballet Providence, and if you’re feeling like you just want to dance? Head to an adult beginner class at Newport Academy of Ballet, and you might just see one of us!
