The weekend’s festivities began at their favorite Italian restaurant, where Nancy and Randy have been going for nearly 10 years. The down-home night was a small preview of a much bigger event to follow: the arrival of the couple’s over 300 guests for their ceremony and reception at Providence’s Biltmore Hotel.
“We walked in and I said, ‘I love it,’” recalls Nancy of seeing the Biltmore as a potential venue for the first time. The couple decided to have their ceremony upstairs in the Garden Room and their reception in the Grand Ballroom, with Director of Catering Scott Connery managing each detail along the way. “It was great working with the Biltmore; they were amazing and went way above my expectations,” she says. “Scott had me everywhere I needed to be when I needed to be there. He took care of everything.”
The bride’s gown shone with Swarovski crystal accents, setting the tone for a reception of subtle glamour. Bold, vertical centerpieces by Twigs erupted with pink blooms (in homage to Nancy’s favorite color). The bride’s bouquet glimmered with a complementary sprinkling of crystals while another touch of bling—the couple’s initials—topped off the tiered cake.
As if the day’s significance was not enough, the newlyweds also had a camera crew in residence. “I was on Say Yes to the Dress,” explains Nancy of the unlikely attendees. “After filming at the store in New York and at all of my dress fittings, they filmed parts of the reception as well.”
Even with the pressure of rolling cameras, the whole wedding was just magical from start to finish, agrees the couple. “We couldn’t pick just one favorite moment, but during the speeches, we remember looking out over the entire ballroom at all of our friends and family. It was a really special moment realizing that everyone was there to support us on such an important day.”
