This Moroccan inspired mini-shoot at the Harbor Hotel Provincetown is proof that when wedding editors get together to geek out, beautiful things happen. We couldn’t resist playing around with the amazing stone and gravel waterfront courtyard at the hotel while shooting for Southern New England Weddings 2014. Wouldn’t a Moroccan tea party be a great theme for a bridal shower or intimate wedding reception?

Notes on getting that Mod Moroccan look:

With an antique kilim rug for a base and the soft, desert-like hues of the surrounding dunes, everything else came together in one big rambing pile of pillows. To update the classic Moroccan style, we looked for traditional patterns and shapes in lighter hues and unusual materials, like the banana leaf poufs from Ikea and a perforated ceramic lantern in crisp white. The throw pillows were made from a mix of antique textiles and modern, ikat-like prints from The Fabric Connection. They always have fabric remnants on sale in the back of their shop in Middletown, RI, which are the perfect size for pillow projects! To top it all off, mint tea was served on a tray from Chase Canopy and graced with a delicate arrangement of roses, lisianthus and sea holly from Patrice R. Milley Floral Designers.
