Who says you can’t go home again? In June of 2012, Jennifer and Michael Kenny did all they could to bring a touch of Jennifer’s Anchorage, Alaska, home to their Plymouth, Massachusetts wedding. Their choice of venue, The Pavilion at Pinehills Golf Club, provided the rustic, warm feeling that Jennifer and Michael, a Massachusetts native, hoped to find.
“We wanted an outdoor ceremony and an area outside for the cocktail reception,” says Jennifer. “The trees surrounding the ceremony site and all around Pinehills brought something of a feeling of home for me. We really liked the open and relaxed setting of Pinehills.”
Packages of forget-me-nots, the Alaskan state flower, served as seating cards for the reception; while chocolates from Alaska Wildberry Products adorned each place setting.
“We wanted an intimate ceremony, so my uncle married us,” says Jennifer. “A very close family friend, who I call an uncle as well, did a reading and each of our mothers lit candles for a unity candle.”
Katy Valentine, event coordinator at The Pinehills, commented that Jennifer and Michael had every couple’s dream wedding. “From the perfect June weather, adorable ring bearer and flower girl, to their antique car and packed dance floor, these two created a night that was memorable and personal to all of their friends and family.”
