Instagram: The New “Subtle” Way To Announce Your Engagement?

We’ve written about engagement announcements on social media before, but a new article in Elle suggests the trend may be shifting from the overt Facebook status to a more subtle ring shot via Instagram.

Several newly engaged folks quoted in the article say that Instagram is a much more intimate platform where their followers are a close-knit group of actual friends and relatives. Rather than having to write out the details, users can post to Instagram with pictures that tell the story, often with no caption needed. Read the full article on Elle here.
