The other day, I sat with my parents and some of their oldest friends, flipping through photos of my mom and dad from the year that they met. I made as many jokes as possible about my mom and her wild, curly ‘80s hair and told my dad I never again wanted to see him in shorts so tiny. It was surreal to see my parents at the age I am today and think about all of the ways their lives were like mine right now.
I started wondering if I would have the same experience with my children one day. I post to Instagram like it’s my job – chalk it up to being a visual person or those filters that make me feel like I’m in a Woody Allen movie, I can’t resist any opportunity to capture my life on this app. But I own no photo albums, and haven’t been to have photos developed since the days of disposable cameras and blurry shots of school field trips and summer camp.
Enter Prinstagram by Social Print Studio, a company that allows you to turn your Instagram feed into physical prints. Prinstagram will create hardcover albums, posters, framed prints, greeting cards, calendars and just about everything else you can think of (complete with original captions and hashtags, if you so choose).
You can select the photos that you’d like included – those awkward #transformationtuesday shots can stay on our smartphones, thank you. The final products turn out beautifully and would make the ideal customized gift for wedding showers, bridesmaids or almost any other occasion that has you looking for a new way to make someone feel extra #blessed in this digital era.
