Editor’s Picks – Summer Edition

Editor's Picks - Summer Edition | Southern New England Weddings

It’s the peak of summer here in Newport and I’ve been rocking the nautical style pretty hard. After spending several years in NYC where – even in the summer – it was tricky to pull off beach-chic on those scalding city sidewalks, I’ve definitely fell happily into the coastal-everything camp. For me, this summer has been all about laid-back style, sprucing up my condo and enjoying the outdoors as much as humanly possible. Here are a few things I’ve either recently scored or am coveting badly. (PS, my birthday is at the end of the month if anyone needs gift ideas! ;))

Editor's Picks - Summer Edition | Southern New England Weddings

{1} One of these has been on my wishlist since I relocated back to Newport two years ago now. Hopefully I will finally score one this summer , so I can fulfill my fantasy of biking about town with fresh flowers in my basket and the wind blowing casually through my hair…

{2} I’ve been a fan of Bauble Bar for a while now,  so I was especially psyched when they announced a collaboration with Cape Cod-born style blogger Grace Atwood of Stripes & Sequins. The whole collection is pretty awesome but I had to start with this bracelet and good thing I did because it’s already on a wait list to purchase!

{3) My entryway (which was previously used as a mini-putting range – don’t ask!) could seriously use a little makeover and this bench would be a great start to a creating a cool sitting area there.

{4} I recently walked into a shop in downtown Newport and the smell was the most authentic summer day scent I’ve breathed indoors in a while. I found out it was thanks to this candle, and now I want one bad!

{5} This chair from Lulu & Georgia would be the perfect addition to my living room. It’s both stylish AND comfy looking and comes in my favorite color – stripes!

{6} As big a fan as I am of flip flops, I’ve recently been eyeing espadrilles as a closed-toe yet still cool and comfortable summer option. These would go with everything.

{7} How do I not own this yet? My house is dotted with anchor accents and this would be a much-used kitchen accessory.

{8} I must have one of these someday. They’re absolutely perfect for morning coffees, lazy afternoon reading and evening cocktails. This one is from One Kings Lane.
