Detail Oriented: Save the Dates

Save the Dates may have originally been more of a formality and an excuse to send out a cute card, but these days they are essential to pulling off  your wedding festivities, especially if they involve a lot of out-of-town guests. From booking travel to booking a sitter, guests have a lot of planning to do to make it to your fiesta, so give them ample time to prepare and you’ll both be much more relaxed come the big day. If there are a lot of logistics to relay, such as other weekend events and hotel and travel information, make sure you include a link to your wedding website where you can add all the nitty gritty details, and consider including a scaled down printed out version for those few guests who still “don’t do the internet.” We’re looking at you grandma!

Luckily there are a ton of options available when it comes to the save the dates, ranging from the traditional to the over the top. Here are a few to get you started.

Bookmarks: What a novel idea! These are useful, fun, and likely won’t end up lost in the junk mail pile.

Matches: Again, both useful and inventive.

Funny: Ok, these may not be for everybody (again, grandma) but they are certainly original and fun for a quirky couple.
