August 5, 2012 –Courtney Nowick and Mike Campbell met at their families’ summer homes in Wareham when they were still in elementary school. They began dating in 8th grade and attended UMass Amherst together. During the summers they taught sailing in Sippican Harbor for the Tabor Academy Summer Program, so when it came time to plan their wedding, Tabor Academy was the perfect venue.
“We always dreamed of a tented summer wedding by the harbor we loved to sail in and a big band with a night full of dancing,” says Courtney. “We envisioned almost a modern Great Gatsby atmosphere with a few other classic American details.”
Despite the fact that their venue was on the water, they did not want to have a nautical or beach theme. They brought in the seashore feel with two small elements: using oars to sign in lieu of a guestbook and coral place card holders.
“Courtney and Mike did a wonderful job incorporating personal elements from their lives into their wedding with things like Courtney’s father’s yellow antique car, samurai swords for all the groomsmen and their love of color,” says photographer Corinna Raznikov. “It’s not every wedding on the water that goes for a purple, yellow and Tiffany blue color palette and pulls it off in such a beautiful way.”
