For middle school sweethearts Jacqueline Deysher and Luke Marchand, their wedding was like an island dream with a touch of déjà vu. The couple tied the knot on breathtaking Martha’s Vineyard, years after spending many family summers and childhood vacations in the area. “We always knew Martha’s Vineyard was our place. Both of our families have connections there and it’s special to us,” says Jacqueline. The couple were referred to Flat Point Farm, a venue that was “exactly what they were looking for,” Jacqueline says. “The location was tied to why we wanted to get married there (Martha’s Vineyard).”

As beautiful as Flat Point Farm is, however, it did not come without its challenges. “There was no electricity or running water at the farm so the event team and my mother literally built a village to make it happen,” describes Jacqueline. “But I loved that it wasn’t your typical wedding. We built it from scratch and had the chance to be creative. It turned out beautiful and was a great place to celebrate. Our photos remind us of that.”

To make the day even more special, the bride worked closely with her floral expert to create a very nostalgic bouquet. “We had such a nice time working with our florist and making the decorations,” says Jacqueline. “My bouquet actually mirrored what my mom had carried on her wedding day, with hanging white flowers.”

Another fantastic part of the wedding was the couple’s entertainment, The Sultans of Swing. “We absolutely loved our band. They were so much fun. We danced all night and they made that happen,” says Jacqueline. “At one point, we even took [the party] outside and everyone danced on the walkway under the stars. Everybody had an amazing time.”
