Cape Cod Wedding Venues Offer Something For Everyone

MANSION, ANTIQUE, FARM AND WATERFRONT SETTINGS FOR YOUR NEXT EVENT

Cape Cod has such a multitude of wedding venues that any dream wedding can come true. Whether you are looking for country club elegance, historic charm or even a working farm, it can be found on the Cape’s sandy shores. All of the venues have gorgeous views and plenty of opportunities for stunning photos right on site. Most are also very close to beaches, boardwalks and lighthouses, which offer additional photo opportunities.

The options for celebrating your special day on the Cape are endless, but the one thing they all have in common is extraordinary food and exemplary service. You and your guests will feel right at home and also very pampered at any of the following popular venues.

A mansion that feels like home…

The Ridge Club in Sandwich offers the quintessential Cape Cod wedding in a private country club. It offers a lot of amenities, including a beautiful bridal suite where bridal parties can get ready and shoot photos. Guys aren’t left out either. A new stag suite gives the groomsmen a place to hang out with access to locker room facilities for dressing and the opportunity to putt around on the upper putting green.

“What I think is unique about The Ridge Club is that we have the ability to make any bride’s vision come to life,” says events coordinator Kerry Noonan. “Our pavilion is like a blank canvas; it really enables people to have any style of wedding. They don’t have to fight with the décor.”

As The Ridge Club events coordinator, Noonan stays with couples from the booking process through the day itself, keeping track of all the vendors so the couple can have a worry-free experience. “I want them to feel like they are at home here,” she says. “We’re like a family and we are here to help them have the best day ever.”

Historic antique charm…

The Old Yarmouth Inn was originally built as a stage stop in 1696, when it welcomed weary travelers. The fully renovated property maintains an old-fashioned charm, with the former front porch now converted into a beautiful dining room. White table linens and glowing candles provide a neutral backdrop for any theme. A wall of windows overlooks lush gardens. “It’s a two-acre property on historic Route 6A, which is one of the 10 most scenic highways in America,” says owner Arpad Voros.

A custom-built footbridge connects the inn to the nearby historic Kelley Chapel, where some couples opt to hold their ceremony. The grounds and nearby historic building offer wonderful backdrops for photos in warmer weather and a massive working fireplace adds cozy warmth in colder months. “We also have excellent food that is reasonably priced,” says Voros. “You can do a really nice, polished reception with good food without breaking the bank.”

Waterfront elegance…

Wequassett Resort and Golf Club in Harwich offers many different settings and all have waterfront views of Pleasant Bay. The décor is refined Cape Cod and the atmosphere is both romantic and sophisticated. Whether you are planning an intimate reception or a grand dinner, the Wequassett has a package for any size party. The combination of the views along with its cuisine, service and attention to detail makes it a popular wedding venue.

“We are really excited about our new space,” says Florence Kiernan, Wequassett’s director of marketing. “It’s a permanent tented structure that has sliding glass doors that open to Pleasant Bay. It’s both heated and air conditioned.” The new space opens up to seating areas with fire pits and decks with gorgeous views. Most couples opt to have their ceremony on the manicured lawn overlooking the water.

Farming fun…

Coonamessett Farm, in East Falmouth, offers a pavilion and deck overlooking a magnificent 20-acre working farm, complete with animals: chickens, goats, miniature donkeys and alpacas. Weddings usually begin in the late afternoon with a bartending service hired by the couple. Guests are then allowed to explore the farm and interact with the animals with cocktails in hand. For ceremonies, the farm staff sets up chairs on the lawn. “It’s a nice area with a lot of flowers,” says farm owner Ron Smolowitz.

In the past, the farm did its own buffet-style meals, but this year it is partnering with local caterers, which opens up more options. Food can be served buffet style or a couple may opt for a genuine sit-down farm-to-table dinner.

Classic country club…

Willowbend, in Mashpee, offers a picturesque private club setting that is unmatched on Cape Cod. Its superb facilities include a beautifully appointed ballroom that holds up to 285 guests, a living room, sitting room and a gorgeous covered veranda that overlooks the 18th green.

“Floor-to-ceiling windows in the ballroom offer panoramic views of the golf course, working cranberry bogs and our signature red barn,” says special events director Terry Morris. “This is a magical place to have your wedding.”

Adjacent to the Clubhouse are guest villas, which offer luxurious overnight accommodations for bridal parties and their guests.
