Alexandra & Eric

Eric Gregoire took his sister’s friend, freshman Alexandra Earle, to his high school’s junior-senior prom in 2005. Fast-forward 11 years and he married Ali in June 2016.
“It’s really quite amazing when we look back on it,” says Ali of her and Eric’s relationship, which weathered both distance and other challenges before ultimately leading to a romantic proposal complete with rose petals and a horse-drawn carriage ride at the Omni Mount Washington Resort in November 2014. “Our relationship survived when everyone said it wouldn’t, and we are really proud of that,” says Ali.
Ali and Eric’s wedding reception was held at The Dorrance. Ali and her mother, who was her matron of honor, planned everything together, taking into account the venue’s elegant and historic architecture, which provided the platform for the event’s black-tie optional theme and neutral color scheme of blush, ivory and champagne gold. The couple remembers the gold mercury glass votives and vases sparkling in the sunlight beaming through The Dorrance’s tall, gilded windows. They took particular care when choosing their officiant and vendors. “The priest who married us is a longtime friend of my mom’s; I worked for the florist, Toni Chandler, for a number of years; and the cake was made by my aunt,” says Ali.
Sweet details completed Ali and Eric’s celebration—toward the end of the evening, the couple arranged for surprise sliders and fries as a late-night snack.
“People were loving it,” says Ali.
The bridesmaids, dressed in floor-length blush gowns, carried bouquets adorned with ribbons embroidered with adjectives Ali chose to describe each of them. “My mom’s was ‘perfect,’” says Ali. Others included “brilliant,” “loyal,” “gregarious” and “compassionate.” The white-and-pink wedding cake sported a metallic topper spelling out “Best Day Ever.”
The couple’s party continued at Local 121, a speakeasy down the road from The Dorrance. Much like the venue’s charm and architecture, Ali and Eric’s wedding was memorable, timeless and romantic—truly the best day ever.
